WhatsApp ‘Dual Account’ feature coming to Android
WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging app, is about to introduce the facility of using two accounts simultaneously on the same smartphone. With this new feature called ‘Dual Account’, users will be able to easily switch from one account to another. This will make it more convenient to keep personal and official communications separate.

Until now, many people had to rely on separate phones or other devices because they could not use multiple WhatsApp accounts on the same phone. This meant that important messages could be missed during the workload. However, if the dual account feature is enabled, it will be possible to manage all communications on one device.
Technology website GadgetsNow reported that two separate phone numbers are required to run two WhatsApp accounts on the same phone. In that case, the smartphone must have the facility to use dual SIM or e-SIM.
To add a new account, the user has to go to the ‘Add Account’ option from WhatsApp settings and add the second number. Then, the account can be activated using the verification code sent via SMS or call.
WhatsApp said that after setting up the account, any account can be easily accessed by pressing the arrow next to the name inside the app. Separate privacy and notification settings can be set for each account. In addition, there will be separate facilities to mute chats, archive, delete messages, or block numbers.
Initially, this feature will be introduced for Android users in a phased manner. However, there is no specific information yet on when iPhone users will get this facility.
